What it is for

The iOS App is for educators and centre staff who need to work quickly on the floor. It connects to the hosted Acorn API, so updates made in the Web App and iOS App can appear without a manual refresh where realtime is enabled.

Realtime updates

Realtime updates are used for broad app freshness, such as child status, attendance, and operational changes. If a child has sunscreen applied or a check-in changes elsewhere, the app should update the visible screen as the data arrives.

Voice AI

Voice mode runs from the app and calls the hosted API when the assistant needs centre data or a supported tool action. The goal is a native, responsive conversation instead of streaming every voice turn through the web portal.
